I graduated in Italy at the University of Padova under the supervision of Prof. Paola Sessa. During my academic career I visited Prof. David Amodio's lab at New York University and Prof. Martin Eimer's lab at Birkbeck college in London, UK. I joined the University of Birmingham as a Research Fellow on a Marie-Curie individual fellowship under the supervision of Dr. Simon Hanslmayr and Prof. Ian Apperly. I have been conducting my independent research as a Senior Research Fellow on a ESRC New Investigator grant under the mentorship of Dr. Carmel Mevorach. For this project I have collaborated with Prof. Chris Butler, Prof. Carlo Miniussi, and Prof. Alessio Avenanti. I recently joined the Department of Psychology and Cognitive Sciences in the University of Trento, in Italy, as an assistant professor. My collaborators and I, at the University of Trento and University of Milano-Bicocca,have recently been awarded a MIUR-PRIN 2022 funding to explore the developmental trajectory of dehumanization, which is the other side of empathy.
