Dr. Federica Meconi, PhD
Department of Psychology and Cognitive Sciences, University of Trento, Italy
School of Psychology, University of Birmingham, UK

Hi!
I am a psychologist and assistant professor in neuroscience in the Department of Psychology and Cognitive Science, at the University of Trento, Italy.
My main research interest is on human empathy and how our own perspectives, experiences and thoughts influence it. I try to address this topic by testing how the brain and the body react when we feel to empathize with others.

My collaborators and I, at University of Trento and University of Milano-Bicocca, have recently been awarded a MIUR-PRIN 2022 funding to explore the developmental trajectory of dehumanization, which is the other side of empathy.

I am also finalising my education as a psychotherapist at the European School of Functional Psychotherapy, Padova, Italy.

We are currently conducting a research study with patients with amnesia in collaboration with Prof. Chris Butler.
We are currently recruiting healthy participants (age range: 45-75 years old) for an online study. For more information please check the Research page and get in touch with me.
